I am looking for information about Frank Virgl, born about 1822, and is from Chotebudice, Dacice, Jihlava. I know he came to America after 1868. He was married to a Mary, born 1826, and they had 4 children, all born in Moravia, John,1856, Frank, 1861, Marie, 1865, and Carie born 1868.

Hi, Kathy, I did a quick check in the Trebon archive for the village of Chotebudice and found some interesting information. There was one Franz/Frantisek/Frank Wirgl/Virgl born on 4 May 1822 in house #23 of Chotebudice, but he died on 27 May 1822. He was illegitimate. The mother was Johanna the daughter of Mathias Wirgl of Chotebudice and mother Margaretha (couldn’t read the last name). I searched a few years before and a few years after and didn’t find another Wirgl birth. But, a Virgl family definitely did live in the village. The record can be found in the parish of Horni Slatina book 4 image 69. Hope this points you to other findings. I also searched the marriage index from 1845 through 1855 and din’t find a marriage in the villages of those parishes.
