St. Wenceslaus Church Anniversary - IA
Celebration
In 2010 St. Wenceslaus Church in Spillville, IA, oldest Czech Catholic Church in America will celebrate 150 years. The days of the grand celebration will be over the Labor Day weekend September 3, 4, 5 (Friday, Saturday, Sunday).
History
We celebrate the history of a people of faith. The early settlers within a few years of arrival in this area built St. Wenceslaus Church in 1860. They brought with them building skills when they left home overseas and came to America. The beautiful church we have today is a tribute to their faith in God and to their workmanship. We remember them and the lives of generations succeeding them
