In a past issue of Nase rodina, there was an article about the pearl button industry run by immigrants from Zirovnice, Czech Republic. I have not been able to locate this article and would love to have a copy. Does anyone have this article and would be willing to scan it and send it to me? Keith Albrecht

Hi Keith, I’m also looking for information about the pearl button industry run by immigrants from the Czech Republic. The story goes that my great-grandfather, Frank Malkovsky came to America in 1906 so he could submit a law-suit against a pearl supplier that was short weighting the material sent to the company making pearl buttons in Bohemia. He died from influenza shortly after arriving, leaving a wife and four children. My grandfather was fifteen when his dad died and was the oldest of the four. If you were successful in finding information about the pearl button industry I would be thrilled to hear how I can access the information. Thanks, Melanie
